You're Not "Just Human"
Happy Sunday!
Today I’d like to share my opinion on the usage of the phrase “I’m just human”. Basically, it baffles me.
For whatever reason, people say they’re “just human” to justify flaws and imperfection. But how is that relevant?
We are the greatest beings on this planet and the greatest beings we perceive in the physical world. So why link flaws and imperfection to the construct of our species? Why allow such limitations to permeate through our speech?
Flaws are flaws if you expect there not to be a flaw. If you expect flaws as part of the process, then they are just another part of you to love and appreciate. They are inevitable when you engage in self-reflection and explore your existence.
And not being perfect is a problem if you inadequately define perfection. Have a definition of perfection that you can control. For me, perfection exists in the present. This very sentence I’m writing is perfect because I decided it is. And it fills me with an immense purpose to be able to share that with you. Yeah, I could hit the backspace button and delete it, but that would’ve been a perfect act too.
My main point
Each and every one of you humans reading this is special and a product of years of miracles and fine-tuning. We’re so much more than what we think we are. And we don’t need to be limited by the construct of being “just human”, our bodies, and our experiences. We are more than that.
Appreciate being human and work on creating a self-serving mindset that helps you thrive every single day. You have a choice to make it work. And I trust that you will succeed.
