Hellooo! Happy Sunday! ☀️
The gist:
The feeling of enlightenment allows you to step back and consider more perspectives at the same for any given situation. This improves your mental well-being, situational judgment, and increases the odds of your desired outcomes.
The meaning of enlightenment and how it benefits you depends on who you're asking. Several philosophies and cultures around the world have varied definitions that fit their overall vibe and intentions. But at the end of the day, it’s just a construct that you can use however you like. But remember, it’s a tool to be used, not merely a concept to grasp onto (remember the raft parable).
What enlightenment means to me:
It’s a construct that describes a lifelong process where you feel habitually self-aware and able to effectively consider multiple perspectives in your external environment before acting on decisions. It allows me to zoom out of any situation and analyze what’s truly required of me at that point in time. This has improved the way I act on my options and provided a lot of mental clarity too
Why is that important?
It's very easy to be caught up in situations where multiple social constructs are in play. During these moments, a lot of us might feel anxious or powerless when we don't have to be.
I believe that that this version of the enlightenment construct allows you to identify multiple layers to any situation and push you to make more mindful choices that benefit you and others.
With practice, you'll also be able to take a step back and perceive any situation with a better vantage point.
Let’s make the benefits more relevant:
You don’t quickly assume the worst of a situation.
You focus on things you can control and thus, actually make a difference.
You allow yourself to accept people as they are.
You let things go with ease.
It helps you limit yourself less.
Okay, that’s cool but how do I do it?
There are generally 2 steps to feeling enlightened.
Practice being more mindful and take time to react to any situation in life. Always remember that there are way more layers to a situation that you will initially perceive.
Believe that you’re enlightened.
Gatekeepers to these concepts might make you believe that you need to do a lot to elevate your consciousness and feel enlightened. But the reality is that all you need to do is make a decision to change.
🔑Make a decision to step back and observe.
🔑Make a decision to evaluate perspectives.
🔑Make a decision to accept what you can’t control.
The moment you make these decisions and work on them every single day, you’re enlightened. You’ve decided to take your mind to a level and it will benefit you more than it ever did before.
Thank you 🙏🏾

Accept that there will be always be another perspective that is different from your own. Everyone has their own perspective of the truth. I find it easier to let go with this mindset
